Ysgo is a working farm near
the village of Rhiw, overlooking the picturesque valley leading to
Porth Ysgo which is only a 5 minutes walk down the coastal path,
where you can enjoy the memorable views of
the surrounding landscape and the waterfall that spills onto the
secluded sand and pebbles beach. Porth Ysgo lies within the 'Pen
Llŷn a'r Sarnau' Special Area of Conservation, and has a diverse
range of biodiversity - Bottlenose Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises, Grey
Seals and the Chough, which you can recognise from its harsh call,
red legs and beak, can all be observed in Cardigan Bay. It’s a
haven for walking enthusiasts with magnificent coastal and mountain
walks and ideal for biking, rock climbing, horse riding, fishing,
swimming, diving or simply just sunbathing and having fun.
The village of Aberdaron, on
the Llyn Heritage Coast, with its award winning beach and family
friendly pubs, cafes and local village shops is only 2 miles away.
Regular boat trips from Porth Meudwy, to Bardsey Island are
available; details can be obtained from the Bardsey Island Trust.
Gwynedd has 16 award
beaches, seven of which have been awarded the coveted Blue Flag.
The county
also
has two Blue Flag award marinas. Porth Neigwl beach (Hell's Mouth),
which is one of the best surfing beaches in North Wales, located
only a 10 minute drive away from Ysgo, is a Green Coast Award beach
and Aberdaron beach has attained the Rural Seaside Award. Both
beaches have excellent water quality. The village of Abersoch is
also only a 15-minute drive away. This resort is probably the most
popular beach in the area. The large, sheltered bay provides ideal
conditions for windsurfing, sailing, power boating and jet skiing.
The static holiday caravan
has its own private and secure garden with decking, BBQ facility and
garden furniture for outside dining with views overlooking the
countryside towards the sea, and ample parking space just outside.
