NOTE.- The quantity and
nature of the Provisions are a matter for agreement between
Master and Crew, but the Board of Trade recommend the adoption
of the scale drawn up by the Mercantile Committee, 1902.
The scale agreed upon is in
addition to the Lime and Lemon Juice and Sugar, or other Anti-Scorbutics,
in any required by the Act.
FEDERATION SCALE OF
PROVISIONS.
SCALE OF PROVISIONS to be
allowed and served out to the Crew during the Voyage, in
addition to the daily issue of Lime and Lemon Juice and Sugar,
and other Anti-Scorbutics, in any case by 57th and 58th Vict.,
cap. s. 200 and Sch. V.

Fresh Potatoes and / or
Vegetables, 1 Ib. daily (as long as supply lasts) may be issued
instead of Preserved Potatoes and Vegetables.
Within the tropics 1½ Ib.
Marmalade may be issued weekly instead of ½ Ib. Butter and 1
lb. Marmalade. In cold weather ¾ lb. of Butter may be issued
instead of ½ Ib. Butter and 1 Ib. Marmalade.
Bread to be issued as
required, enough without waste. Stoke-hold hands to receive
Oatmeal and 1 quart of water extra daily while under steam.
