Dennis Williams
July 1956
| Dennis Williams, from Morfa Nefyn left home in the
summer of 1956, and in his six years at sea, he sailed on a variety of
different ships, as you can see in the selection below. We are fortunate
that he had a camera, and he recorded his adventures. Thanks to Dennis,
as well, he is the first on this website to have a photograph of every
ship he was on. He now lives in Pwllheli.

| There were several Merchant Navy sea
training schools in the U.K. during the 50's. At
just fifteen years of age he went in the summer of 1956 to
the training ship, T S Vindicatrix, at Sharpness on the
river Severn. He entered the Merchant Navy on August
the 2nd 1956. |
