Capt Griffith Jones, Graig Ewig, of this parish spent 23 years in Australia, he returned home in the year 1883 and died May 9th 1884 aged 45 yrs, also his brother Robert who was buried in Calcutta September 10 – 1864 aged 25 yrs, also John Griffith, Tyn Llan, their father who drowned on Caernarvon bar in the wreck of the Steamship ‘MONK’, January 7 – 1843 aged 28 yrs.

In Loving Memory of Capt Ellis Jones, son of Griffith and Margaret Jones, Morfa, Llanengan, died October 24th 1889 whilst on a voyage to the West Indies with the Brigantine ‘CARL AND LOUISE’ he was buried at La Vela de Coru, Venezuela.
