"Ben Line"
|
If Blue Funnel was called the "Welsh Navy" then the
Ben Line would surely be the "Scots Navy" they were registered at the port
of Leith, and were mainly manned by Scots, with many of them from the
Outer Hebrides. Ben Line shared the same Far East run as Blue Funnel as
well. |

Ben Line House Flag
| In 1970 I was on the Blue Funnel vessel Priam
Far East, and during that trip the Benlawers was on her maiden
voyage, she must have been on the same schedule as us for
she was in every port with us, all dressed up with her flags. I sneaked
aboard her at Yokohama in the dead of night and robbed her house
flag. We had it hanging up in our bar for the rest of the trip.

Many thanks to Capt Neville Lester, for lending us these
