Tuesday 14 – Moved from Gimla to Tan Ffordd, so that Owen can have somewhere to put the furniture. Got 4/- from the crown I lent Owen.

Wednesday 15 – Damp misty. Watch pay £2/14/0d.

Monday 20 – Eisteddfod at Rhoshirwaun. Getting things ready for the drill (LSA)

Tuesday 21 – BW 1 am to 5. Big gun drill at 3. BW 10 pm to 2 am.

Wednesday 22 – BW 2 pm to 6.

Thursday 23 – BW 6 am to 10. Collecting money for the Hospital fund. Paid for 3 cwt corn at Eifion.

Friday 24 – At the Rocket House, cleaning the ropes. Paid R Jones, Lon Las for the coal.

Saturday 25 – Slept at Rhiwlas. Abersoch call at 5.10 am. BW 6 am to 10.

Sunday 26 – Hughes Rhiw.

Monday 13 – Lydia Jones comes to Gimla. Owen Jones sleeps there for the first time.

Tuesday 14 – Dug the big patch at Ael Bryn and furrowed for the potatoes.

Wednesday 15 –  New Fair, Nell has gone there. Started digging the garden at Tan Ffordd.

Thursday 16 – Finished digging the garden at Tan Ffordd. Planted the lower patch at Ael Bryn.

Friday 17 – Planted early potatoes at Ael Bryn.

Saturday 18 – At Uwchmynydd today. Evan Owen gave me £2/10/0d for the hay cutting machine. Received £1/10/0d rent for Bryn Awel.

Thursday 1 – Cutting stumps. Hot weather.

Sunday 4 – WJ Jones the minister. Eliza the wife of Tan Rardd is taken ill.

Wednesday 7 – In town buying wood to seal Bryngoleu Bach. Bought the WC seat from O Parry.

Wednesday 21 – Half at Eifion working on the wall.

Thursday 22 – Quarterly Meeting at Pisgah. Half at Eifion. Went to the quarterly meeting in the afternoon.

Monday 26 – At Eifion. Sold the lambs to Owen Plas for 15/6d.

Tuesday 27 – Three quarters at Eifion, no cement.

Thursday 29 – BW 2 am to 6. WJ Thomas, Eifion has gone to Cricieth Fair to look for a horse. BW 6 pm to 10.

Thursday 6 – Paid R Jones, Lon Las 4/- for bringing the wood to Bryngoleu Bach. Finished the floor for Lydia, paid 5/-.

Friday 7 – BW 5 am to 9.

Monday 10 – Home. Nell has gone to Pwllheli. Milked the sheep. Weighed the wool at Eifion, £4/8/6d.

Tuesday 11 – Dipping sheep at Tyn Mynydd.

Wednesday 12 – Daniel’s been to Pwllheli. Watch pay £1/2/6d. Daniel changes the cheque £4/8/6d for the wool for me. Put up the beds at Tan Ffordd. BW 10 pm to 2am.

Friday 4 – Carried cae llidiart gwyn, Bwlchgarreg. Nell goes to town.

Saturday 5 – Carried the field in front of Eifion and the garden at Penboncyn.

Sunday 6 – Bob Humphreys at 2.

Monday 7 – Watch pay £1/16/0d. Carried cae lleiniau, Penboncyn. Everyone’s gone to Porth Oer to the Regatta.

Tuesday 8 – With Owen Hughes, cutting hay at Conion.
