hard. Sent a letter to Eliza. Saturday 5 At Pwllmelyn moving the gorse mill. Sunday 6 John Elias Pwllheli at 2 and 6. Monday 7 Had a letter from Nell to say that her
mother was ill with the rheumatics. RHT sends her a bottle of medicine from
Botwnnog. Tuesday 8 At Pwllmelyn in the afternoon taking down
the wood that held the spindle of the crushing mill. Went to Nebo at 7 to listen
to Reidol Roberts. Wednesday 9 Had a letter wanting me to go to Clun.
Started off from Port. Thursday 10 Started my journey with the first train
from Port. Arrived at Birches at 4 pm. Friday 11 Eliza is no better. Sent a letter to RHT. Saturday 12 Cold icy. Sunday 13 Miserable Sunday. Monday 14 Sent a letter to Carreg Lefain and Jinni
Pisgah. Tuesday 15 Sent a letter to Bob and Tedi. Wednesday 16 Postcard from RHT to say that hes
going to Aberystwyth. Thursday 17 Very cold today. Eliza is poorly today
severe pain in her right arm. Friday 18 Sent a letter to Ann Port and one to Tedi
at Ael y Bryn. Elizas left hand is painful today. Saturday 19 Both hands are painful today, am up
until 2 am with Eliza. Sunday 20 Miserable Sunday. Elizas back is bad

from Jinni Pisgah telling me about the LSA drills. Wednesday 30 Sent a letter to Brynfran. Thursday 31 Received The Herald and an ounce
of tobacco from Tan y Ffordd. February Friday 1 Sent Tedi a letter to ask him to take my
insurance card to Terfyn. Saturday 2 Heavy rain today. Eliza is much better. Sunday 3 Last night Eliza suffered severe pain in
her left arm, it was nothing like the pain in the right arm, she really isnt
well today and feels very miserable. Monday 4 Mild weather. Tuesday 5 Had a letter from RHT to say that his
partner had been injured. Sent a letter to Carreg Lefain and Tan y Ffordd. Wednesday 6 Fine day. Eliza isnt well. Reg goes to
Row to find room for the cattle. Thursday 7 Eliza is better today her right arm
isnt as painful. Went to Clun in the morning. Friday 8 Eliza is better. Saturday 9 The pain has gone. Reg goes to Carno to
view a farm known as Cennig, not a good place its very wet. Sunday 10 Eliza has no pain this Sunday. Its a
fine day but its miserable being here. Monday 11 Had a letter from William Ty Croes. Heavy
snow today. Eliza gets up today. Tuesday 12 Cold
with snow today. Sent a letter to Llawenan. Eliza gets up again today. Wednesday 13 Had a letter from Tan y Ffordd. Cold
icy day. Sent a letter to Tan y Ffordd. Thursday 14 Cold day hard ice. Theres no end to
the snow. Eliza comes downstairs today. Friday 15 Very cold snowing. Saturday 16 Had a letter from Tedi Ael y Bryn to say
that theres a lot of snow in Rhiw and the motors have been buried under it,
no one has ever seen so much snow before. Sunday 17 Cold day the snow is still around. Monday 18 Cold day the snow remains the same and
theres heavy snow in Rhiw. Tuesday 19 Had a letter from Tedi and Jinni Pisgah
to say that Mary Ty Croes bach was buried today twelve men had to clear the road
to take her to St Aelrhiws church. Wednesday 20 Cold day but a thaw is setting in. Thursday 21 - Slow
thaw today. Reg goes to Colsty to fetch a load of hay. Friday 22 My shirts arrived from Rhiw. Saturday 23 Mild day a good thaw. Reg slaughters a
pig for Lysyard. Sunday Monday - 24
to 25 Tuesday 26 Its snowing today. Eliza is in bed
again. Wednesday 27 Eliza has a chesty cough. Thursday 28 Had a letter from Ann Port. March. Friday 1 Eliza gets up to sit by the fire in the
bedroom. Saturday 2 The pain has returned to her left arm,
both are bad this evening. I go to the shop in Clun and send a letter to Richard
at Tan y Ffordd. Its a miserable evening and there are no prospects of chapel
tomorrow. Sunday 3 Miserable Sunday. Eliza is in bed
rheumatics in both hands. Sent a letter to Port. Monday 4 - Reg
goes to the doctors to fetch Eliza a bottle of medicine. Tuesday 5 I was up all night, Eliza was coughing all
the time. Had a letter from RHT. Reg and I go to fetch a load of wood. Wednesday 6 Thursday 7 Sent a letter to RHT. I go to Clun. Friday 8 Eliza is in bed rheumatism in her left leg. Saturday 9 Received the Herald and tobacco from Tan
y Ffordd. Sunday 10 Fine Sunday, but really miserable as
things stand. Eliza is in bed. Monday 11 Tuesday 12 Sent a letter to Tedi and one to Tan y
Ffordd to say that we are coming home on Friday. Wednesday 13 Fine day. Thursday 14 Fine day. Eliza gets up. Reg goes for a
load of hay to Colsty. Friday 15 Went to Colsty and Clun. Sent a letter to
RHT. Saturday 16 Miserable Saturday evening, Eliza has
pain in her left leg. The lady from Brynfran was buried today. Sunday 17 Eliza is in bed severe pain in her legs.
Its really depressing. Monday 18 Her leg is still bad today. Tuesday 19 Eliza cant even sit up in bed today,
but shes a little better by the afternoon. Wednesday 20 Had a letter from Tedi to say that the
lady from Brynfran was buried on Saturday. Thursday 21 Rain all day today. Friday 22 Saturday 23 Went to Colsty. Sunday 24 Eliza is much better today, but stays in
bed. Monday 25 Warm weather. Tuesday 26 Had a letter from RHT and one from Tan y
Ffordd. Went to Clun to find a motor to take us to Montgomery tomorrow. Wednesday 27 Near Byrlo waiting for the bread van
its a warm morning. Came home from Clun. Thursday 28 - Furrowing
the early potatoes. Friday 29 Planting potatoes. Its very warm, have
taken my shirt off. Saturday 30 Finished planting the early potatoes.
