Friday 18 – Fine day. Shift. Bob and I finish digging the border under the kitchen, Isaac sends second paper to Sam Jones.

Saturday 19 -  Half a morning. Gathering a load of gorse in the afternoon from parc. At Tan y Ffordd in the evening.

Monday 21 –  Loading the Mayflower. Planted potatoes and shallots in the border by the hen coop. Shift went down at 10 ‘til 8.

Tuesday 22 – Finished loading. Shift and a half pumping from 8 ‘til 8 am. Letter from the South.

Tuesday 3 – Put up guttering at Syntyr. Heavy rain during the night,

Wednesday 4 – Lifting stones and papered the big room.

Thursday 5 – Finished the guttering at Pen yr Ogo.

Friday 6 – Pay £4/9/8d.

Saturday 7 –  Getting stones to build the kitchen at Ael y Bryn. My brother is at Tan y Ffordd tonight.

Monday 9 -  Went to Uwchmyndd with the car (trap)

Tuesday 10 – Dug the potatoes. Evans has gone to the funeral of John Gwthrian ‘s wife.

Thursday 12 -  Elin Fryndol’s funeral, the wife of Sion William Fachan Aberdaron. Rain from the east today.

Friday 13 – Pwllheli fair. Fine day. Went to Rhoshirwaun no money there, but there should have been £1/10/0d.

Monday 16 – Took down the pig wire at parc.

Wednesday 18 – Went to the doctor at Botwnnog I have a pain in my back. William Roberts is here he pays 8/8d. The minister from Bardsey is here.

Friday 20 – Went to Rhoshirwaun to get the unemployment money from Caradog Jones £1/15/0d.. Weather is dry.

Saturday 21 – If I received all of the money it would be £2/17/6d.

Monday 23 – Eliza and I go to the fair with the pony and trap from Tan y Ffordd.

Tuesday 24 – Went to the doctors again, my back is very bad. Jerri is planking the boat. Dry weather.

Thursday 26 – Home my back is bad.

Friday 27 – Went to Rhoshirwaun to fetch the money £1/1/3d. It rained quite a bit during the night.

Saturday 28 – Went to Talafon Llangwnadl auction. Rain during the night.

Wednesday 1-

Thursday 2 – Williams supposed to be in Rhoshirwaun. Went to Rhoshirwaun to see Williams Portdinorwic. Fishing caught two wrasse.

Friday 3 – Received the monthly books, bill £1/9/4d. Didn’t go to Rhos this evening.

Saturday 4 – LSA drill today. Hugh Jones gets the money for throwing furthest today 5/-.

Sunday 5 – Ellis Owen Lloyd Porthmadoc.

Friday 1 – Received a pound from Lewis at siop newydd.

Saturday 2 – Isaac, Tedi and I go fishing for mackerel off the islands in the yellow boat.

Sunday 3 – Bob Humphreys Llanbedrog at 2 and 6. Hot dry weather.

Monday 4 – Haymaking at Tan y Ffordd, the lower end of the field near Conion.

Tuesday 5 –

Wednesday 6 – Finished getting the hay at Tan y Ffordd. The meeting at Nebo starts.

Thursday 7 – Went to Dyffryn Botwnnog to buy a feather bed for £3/5/0d. Preaching at Nebo on the subject of the closure of Penbwlch.

Friday 8 -  Bob only gets 5/- instead of 10/- from Lewis. I get a pound from Lewis.

Sunday 10 – Hugh Hughes Cricieth at 2 and 6. Isaac goes down South to join the Afon Lledi. Dick takes him to Bangor.

Wednesday 7 – Went to Porthmadog to look for slate.

Thursday 8 – Had word from Williams in town, that they have slates. Made the door for the kitchen.

Monday 12 -  Went to town to fetch the slates. Evans Fawr moves to Tyn Mynydd.

Tuesday 13 – Putting rafters on the kitchen. Isaac sends £10, he moves to the SS Stevenstone London.

Wednesday 14 – Started roofing the kitchen.

Thursday 15 – Roofing again.

Friday 16 – Finished roofing. Money from Lewis 15/-.

Saturday 17 – Made a frame for the door of the aisle.

Sunday 18- Llanbedrog.  Bob Humphreys Llanbedrog. Monthly collection.

Monday 19 – Prepared the aisle ready for roofing.

Wednesday 21 – Roofing the aisle.

Thursday 22 – Went to Aberdaron to enquire about a motor (bus) to go to Nevin.

Friday 23 – Had a receipt for the books. Put cement on the kitchen. Money from Lewis 15/-

Saturday 24 – Repaired the wooden fascia ready to paint. Had a letter from Isaac from Antwerp.

Sunday 25 – WR Jones Cricieth at 2. Decided to take the Tocia bus to go to Nevin.

Monday 26 – Made a window in the aisle.

Saturday 1 – Fishing for wrasse.

Sunday 2 – I was ill so didn’t attend chapel.

Monday 3 – In bed today I am sick.

Tuesday 4 – In bed until the evening, felt a little better. Rain today.

Wednesday 5 – Mother buys piglets in town. Sick got up in the evening.

Thursday 6 – Bob, Nell and Morris go to the meeting at Nevin. Got up this morning.

Friday 7 – Money from Lewis Jones 15/-, in total £16/11/8d.

Saturday 8 – Finished the window in the aisle.

Sunday 9 – Joseff Jones Nevin as was at 2. The subject of his sermon was money.

Monday 10 –  Working on the kitchen.

Tuesday 11 – Eliza has gone to Aberdaron, Jenny is ill.

Wednesday 12 – Took the coalhouse down and started on the scullery.

Thursday 13 – Made a scullery near the pigsty.

Friday 21 -  The traction comes to Ty Croes Mawr. Went to the school to meet John Williams Tal y Sarn to discuss the money from work.

Sunday 23 – School meeting. Rev J Gwilym Roberts asks the questions. Collection 3/4d.

Monday 24 – Thrashing at Ty Croes Mawr.

Tuesday 25 –  Putting in the oven at Meillionydd.

Friday 16 – Robert Syntyr and I go to Sarn to change the postal order 15/-. Received 15/- from Lewis G Jones.

Saturday 17 -  LSA drill new man today. (I fear that it was on Saturday night or Sunday that we lost poor Isaac.)

Sunday 18 – T Gwilym Roberts minister. (I fear that it was either side of this Sunday that poor little Isaac was lost in the North Sea aboard the SS Stevenstone)

Monday 19 – At Tan y Ffordd putting stalls between two of the cows.

Tuesday 20 – Lecture in Pencaerau for Thomas Tyn Llan. Strong winds all through this week.

Wednesday 21 – Letter from the South. Tedi, Gruff  Pwllmelyn, Little Bob and Fat Ianto all receive 5/- unemployment money.

Thursday 22 – Fetched a cwt of coal from Seaview.

Friday 23 – Sent a plum pudding to Isaac to Cardiff. Fetched the goose from Meillionydd. Received 15/- from Lewis G Jones.

Saturday 24 – Putting up a new sign above Shop Newydd. Bought half a sack of hen food at Seaview.

Sunday 25 – Postal delivery today. Prayer meeting at 2 and 6.

Tuesday 27 – Expecting a letter from Isaac.

Wednesday 28 – No letter, I’m afraid and worried.

Thursday 29 – Saw the news in the paper about Isaac’s ship, she is overdue, sent a telegram to Cardiff to enquire about her.

Friday 30 – Telegram today to say that there is no news of her since she sailed on the 16th of this month.

Saturday 31 – The last Saturday evening of the year and it is a bleak and heart breaking Saturday evening. Richard Ty Fry calls here.
