Friday 5 – Rain today. Pay £2-3/4d. Mother takes the pigs to Sarn.

Saturday 6 – Shift.

Sunday 7 – Conwy Pritchard didn’t turn up. School meeting at Tyddyn.

Monday 8 – Shift. EW misses. Cold wind from the north.

Tuesday 9 – Shift.

Wednesday 10 – Shift. Erw misses to spread muck. Robert Penarfynydd begins to plough the ‘dryll.’

Thursday 11 – Shift. They bury Richard the son of Efail Rhos who came home with diptheria.

Friday 12 – Shift everyone present waiting to load the Catherine at eight. Took the card to terfyn.

Saturday 13 – Shift everyone present, expecting a ship. News has come that Dafydd Pisgah has been wounded in France.

Sunday 14 – John Price Prayer meeting at six. Read Anne Jones Bryn Morfa’s paper.

Monday 15 – Freezing. Shift 4‘til 12. Dick has his papers to go to Bangor on Thursday.

Wednesday 17 – Mother and Dick go to town. Shift.

Thursday 18 – Dick has a telegram to go to Bangor. Dick leaves on the four o clock train from Pwllheli. Shift. Pay £2-9/4d.

Friday 19 – Dick’s in Wrexham. Shift. Freezing hard.

Saturday 20 – Shift. Dick comes home Saturday evening.

Sunday 21 – Jones Rhiw at 2. Cold and freezing hard.

Monday 22 – Shift on the level. Mother and Eliza go to Pig y Parc, Dick goes to meet them with the cart. Parry begins preaching

Friday 2 – Loading the SS Elizabeth 64. Went down at 6 the ship came to the jetty at eight. Pay £2-7/4d.

Sunday 4 – No chapel ill. The wife of Treheli dies. Snow.

Monday 5 – No work ill.

Tuesday 6 – No work again ill. Had a letter from the south. Freezing.

Wednesday 7- No work.

Thursday 8 – No work.

Friday 9 – No work. Buried the wife of Treheli.

Saturday 10 –No work, cold and freezing.

Sunday 11 –RM Williams. A cold and frozen day.

Monday 12 – Shift 4 ‘til 12.Began paying the Government Savings scheme.

Tuesday 13 – Shift. Freezing.

Wednesday 14 – Shift. Freezing. Robert Evan misses five shifts, his mother has died.

Thursday 15 – Three quarters on the agreement. ’Started  loading the Agnes Ellen 36 rounds. Pay £2-7/4d.

Friday 16 – Finished loading the Agnes Ellen 54 rounds, then a quarter in work. Maurice and I gather subscriptions for the Government savings scheme.

Saturday 17 – It rained last night. Shift Hugh Thomas and I. Loaded half the Agnes Ellen.

Tuesday 27 – Dick and Tedi cut a load of gorse at Congol. Shift.

Friday 30 – Planted shallots, finished furrowing the border. Pay £2-7/4d. Shift.

Saturday 31 – Began furrowing the big path, furrowed the field near the hovel at Tan y Ffordd.

Sunday 1 – W Jones Owen. Snow today.

Monday 2 – Heavy snow today. Eliza went to Parc, the yearling ewe had had a lamb as well as two other sheep. We put the sheep in the hovel this evening. Shift RE and WO.

Tuesday 3 – Shift. Old Gwenno has a lamb.

Wednesday 4 – Shift.

Thursday 5 – Shift.

Friday 6 – Shift.

Saturday 7 – Shift.

Sunday 8 – Williams Nevin. School meeting at Tan y Foel.

Monday 9 – Cold day no work. Shift started at midnight. EW misses.

Friday 1 – Shift. Had new scales from Sarn.

Saturday 2 – Shift. Got a plank in Porth Llawenan 20 foot long by 4 thick and a foot wide.

Sunday 3 – Hugh Jones Cricieth at 6, couldn’t come because of the rain at 2.

Monday 4 – Shift. EW misses the cow is calving. William Llainfatw starts in the afternoon. Got the plank from ‘Porth Wyn’ below the mountain 32 foot long.

Tuesday 5 – Shift.

Wednesday 6 – Shift. Panty gwair heifer has a calf. Wet weather.

Thursday 7 – Gathered sand eels, rain and thunder. Caught a salmon in the net. Pay £2-14/4d.

Friday 8 – Mist and rain.

Saturday 9 – Washed the boat.

Sunday 10 – Davies Abersoch at Horeb.

Monday 11 – Day shift. Dick washes the sheep.

Tuesday 12 – Day shift.

Wednesday 13 – Shift. Went to get the wagons from Bontabergial to Groeslon to load gravel on to the carts.

Thursday 14 – Shift.

Friday 15 – Shift. Painted the boat.

Saturday 16 – Shift 8 ‘til six putting the pump in place. Charles cuts Heather.

Monday 18 – Money in the war loan 4/-. Shift 4 ‘til 12. Washed the sheep at Tan y Ffordd.

Tuesday 19 – Took the cow to Llangwnadl Bridge. Shift. John P Hughes at Pisgah.

Wednesday 20 – Shearing at Tan y Ffordd. Dick goes to fetch the hay machine. Shift. Rain all day.

Friday 6 – Shift. Pay £2-18/-. Loaded Robert Jones Edeyrn’s ship the Tryfan.

Saturday 7 – Loaded SS JJ Monks. 60 rounds.

Wednesday 1 – Shift 4 ‘til twelve. The lads on days load the Pilgrim 12 rounds.

Thursday 2 – Loading the SS Florence 51 rounds came to a halt at half past ten until two, a line had broken on the jetty, stopped at seven thirty.

Friday 3 – Shift started at 4 in the morning repairing the jetty. Started loading at two until half past three. Loading the traction at 5.

Saturday 4 – Dick, Lewis. Griffith Pwllmelyn, Dafydd Penmynydd and I go fishing.

Sunday 5 – John Roberts Penrhyn at 2. Prayer meeting at 6.

Monday 6 – Day shift.

Tuesday 7 – Shift. The lads from Penrhyn start.

Wednesday 8 – Shift. Rain. Mother and Eliza go to town to buy mothballs.

Thursday 9 – Shift and a half starting at two until two. Expecting a ship.

Saturday 11 – Shift. The brindle heifer has the bull. Isaac goes to Nefyn to the circus.
