John
Thomas traveled throughout Wales at the end of the nineteenth
century taking photographs in towns and villages, mansions and
crofts. And we are so pleased that we have been lent these images,
so we can share them with you, they really are a treasure of social
history. |

Taken in September 1896, we presume in the
Aberdaron area. It looks like their trade was carpentry. Does
anyone recognise the house? |

Humphrey Jones and his wife Jane (on the
trap) outside their Pensarn cobblers workshop Aberdaron. Humphrey
was also a carrier. An outstanding glimpse into the past.
