By all accounts William Booth Ross, from
London, was quite a strange little man. He used to break into
chapels to rob the collection box, but if the box was empty, he
would set the building on fire. And this is what he did to the Salem
chapel Pwllheli in July 1913, which burnt to the ground. Apparently,
the only thing that escaped the inferno was the pulpit Bible. |
