Tai Unnos
Roedd hi yn draddodiad yn y
17 & 18 ganrif i adeiladu bythynod unnos. Pan fyddai
par ifanc yn priodi yna mi fyddai eu teuleuoedd a'u cymdogion yn dod at ei
gilydd i adeiladu'r bwthyn, Roedd rhaid cwbwlhau'r gwaith a chael mwg o'r simne
cyn toriad gwawr, os lwyddant i wneud hyn, yna nhw oedd berchen y bwthyn ac acer
o dir o'i amgylch. Mae Bryn Gwynt a Pen yr Ogof yn enghreifftiau da iawn o dai
unnos.

Moonlight
Cottages
Bryn Gwynt and Pen yr Ogof
are fine examples of Moonlight Cottages. It was traditional in the 17th and 18th
century for young couples to squat on land, and if they were able to build a
cottage over night and have smoke coming from the chimney by dawn, they were allowed to
keep the house plus an acre of land. So at dusk all their family and friends
would set to work and in most cases would complete the cottage by sunrise, in
fact judging by the amount of these dwellings that are still standing and in
some cases still occupied they were very successful at this pastime !!!
