"Pwlldefaid Shop"

Fashion a hundred years ago.

One of the residents of Rhiw came across this little catalogue of The Spring and Summer collection of ladies fashion that was  to be found at the Pwlldefaid Shop in Pwllheli in 1899. The women of Rhiw were obviously fashion conscious in their day, everyone had a new outfit for Easter Sunday and although many may not have been able to afford to buy an outfit, they probably would have bought material and may have had ideas and inspiration from this little catalogue. Pwlldefaid was a well known shop in Pwllheli for well over a hundred years, and it was Owen Williams owner of Pwlldefaid that had this little catalogue printed for his customers.
